Excel 2012 Filter "Searching" Error with Very Large Dataset

I am using the filter-search function on a very large dataset (nearly
200,000 rows). Excel keeps getting stuck "searching" for the data I enter
into the filter search field. The filter search function was working okay
last week with the same size data set. I have checked my computer's
performance, and tested this on several computers. Is anyone aware of a
software issue/patch/solution? Ultimately, I want to use the search filter
and the "add current selection to filter" functions to find specific data
to create a new dataset....
